Father's Day - 17 June 2007

For the past few occasions like grandma/grandpa's birthdays, we celebrated at the same restaurant in Vivocity, No Signboard Seafood restaurant. So for this year Father's day (to celebrate with grandpa) we decided to go for seafood hotpot dinner at The BUFFET, a restaurant in M Hotel. All of us met at around 3 pm and went shopping before dinner. The "mission" for the day was to buy a new handphone for grandma, and a portable DVD player for daddy.

Mission 1: Grandma had specifically requested for a user-friendly handphone. The only function that she wanted was a handphone that could make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls. Haha that's an easy task, in less than an hour, we found one nokia handphone that she liked.

A striking pink phone for grandma. Mission accomplished!

Mission 2: While we were shopping around for grandma's handphone, daddy went around shopping for his portable dvd player. Daddy was so fussy and still could not decide after 2 hrs of shopping. In order not to keep everyone waiting, daddy called it a day and all of us went for dinner. Here are some photos taken in the restaurant during the dinner:

Hunt for the portable dvd player continues..........Daddy & mummy were on annual leave the following day, Monday 18 June 2007. How could daddy missed out on this opportunity to source for his portable dvd player. All of us (mummy, daddy & Chloe) went for dim sum lunch, then proceeded to Harvey Norman in Bukit Panjang Plaza. Daddy resumed his search as soon as we stepped into the electrical store. Phew! He finally set his eyes on Shinco, a 7 inch dvd player after browsing for half an hour. The salesman tested the product and daddy ensured that everything was in good condition before paying for it satisfyingly at the cashier counter.

Daddy's portable dvd player ....Finally.

The story behind the dvd player
All this while, daddy wanted to get a portable DVD player but all the reasons he gave failed to convince mummy. He never gave up and will occassionally talk about it. Finally, he thought of a brilliant idea!! Knowing that mummy dotes on Chloe and will agree to anything that is beneficial to Chloe, he finally managed to convince mummy by stressing that when Chloe is older, she can watch cartoons/educational programs on this dvd player when she goes on overseas holidays or when we dine-out. Mummy gave it a second thought and finally accepted the idea of buying one. What a smart move. Bravo daddy!
